Job Description

This is a full-time, salary-exempt position located in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This position requires an individual with a broad skillset that can provide project management for all aspects of various programs/projects, including but not limited to IT services, Cybersecurity engagements, Banking, Healthcare and Transportation. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role will support various programs/projects to ensure their successful and consistent management.

The primary functions of the IT Operations/Project Manager include:

  • Provide a weekly status update of all assigned programs/projects to Ulu HI-Tech management
  • Perform essential project management duties which include but are not limited to the following:
    • Regular status reporting
    • Risk, Issue and Opportunities Tracking and reporting
    • Facilitate the creation of key project artifacts (e.g. org chart, roles & responsibilities, scope, requirements and test plans)
    • Coordination with other engaged teams/vendors
    • Create, maintain, and manage an overall project schedule and other schedules as needed. Publish the project schedule for all team members to review on a periodic basis.
    • Work with teams and management to determine resource needs and when resources are needed to produce forecasts against planned tasks. Track actual hours and resource costs and produce a variance analysis with corrective action plans on a regular basis.
    • Work with teams, management and vendors to manage fixed cost & time and material resource agreements.
    • Produce a forecast against the project schedule.
    • Produce variance analysis and correction action plans on a regular basis.
    • Ensure projects meet the delivery process outlined by the Governance (e.g. Transition Documents, Transition to Execution / Closure, Change Requests, Governance Deliverable Trackers, etc.)
    • Work with team to plan and manage audits as required
    • Manage and report on the project budget as required
    • Coordinate and lead/participate in meetings necessary to ensure project success
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management
    • Work with Ulu HI-Tech Management, the Customer, Vendors and Subcontractors to
      • facilitate a smooth and efficient contracting process
      • facilitate resolution of any issues after the contract has been executed
      • be the Ulu HI-Tech point of contact for all vendors and subcontractors for the assigned program/project
    • Perform basic Contract Administration duties which include but are not limited to contract review for content, spelling & grammar, tracking of contract documents, tracking of critical contract dates, and tracking of contract Service Level Agreements (SLAs) & reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors and subcontractors
  • Ability to track project milestones while staying within budget and time constraints
  • Strong communications skills in verbal presentations and written documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project
  • Ability to effectively work remotely while still attaining expected outcomes
  • Must be able to learn and use Customer provided software as necessary to perform duties

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and 5 years’ experience in Project Management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Desired Experience/Certifications

  • CMMI Training/experience is not required but would be helpful.
  • Experience/understanding with Agile development methodology or DevSecOps preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires lifting and moving of office supplies, furniture, equipment and boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to work at multiple locations in Hawaii and travel to those locations within the same day
